Notes
Notes are posted and edited in a tab on the main form. An unlimited number of notes may be posted to an account. A separate set of speed buttons on the notes tab are used to add, edit or delete a note; when pressed, a note edit window appears. The user is required to tag a note with an action code and priority level. This is useful in producing management reports on collections activity and action items by priority.

Notes are free-form memo fields and thus able to contain a large number of characters in each record. The user has full cut/copy/paste capabilities for data entry fields such as this. Collectors may paste the text contents of letters or text data obtained from on-line service bureaus into a note.

Another useful feature of Notes is the ability for the user to enter the text of a note and print its contents as a letter. By pressing the ‘Print note as letter’ button, an interface allows the user to select addressee, plaintiff and other information used in a business letter. The user may specify whether a bitmap signature is to be used. As an option, the firm’s letterhead stationery may be used or a letterhead may be printed on blank paper. The Fair Debt Notice is always available to be printed at the bottom of the letter at the user’s discretion.
