Status Tab The Status tab is divided into several sub-sections of data related to the status of the account.
The sub-section titled Status contains fields which are used to close the account as well as provide a means of indicating the specific legal status. If the account is recalled by the client, the recalled field will be checked either updated automatically by the client via data exchange or manually by the user. Date fields are also provide to indicate the date of closure or recall. Also contained in this section are fields that indicate the charge-off date, and dates of last payment to both the original creditor and the firm. Statute of Limitation dates are also calculated from the charge-off/date of last payment and a field is reserved to store the statute date as received from the creditor. If the account has been referred to an affiliate attorney, the code of the attorney firm is indicated.
Bankruptcy information is contained in a another sub-section. If the account has declared bankruptcy, the chapter, date, and court number may be entered. Fields for the disposition (discharged or dismissed) and date are also included.
The Account Origin section contains fields that indicate the Payee, Client and Original Creditor and Current Creditor of the account. Other fields are available to further identify the account by the owner id, group id, batch id, and portfolio id, if applicable. The owner id is important in that provides a unique identifier apart from the original account number, and is often assigned by the owner of the account for bookkeeping purposes.
The last sub-section contains a list of flag fields: these are important logical (true/false) indicators of account status such as Bankruptcy, Payment arrangement, Disputed, deceased (with date), Moved out of state, Skipped, Attorney involvement, Debt counseling service, Do not contact, Do not sue, In military service, and Do not post. Checking some of these fields will turn icon alert indicators on.
